Nuevo Advertising Group
Receives Nomination for Minority Business of the Year
The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce recognized Nuevo Advertising
Group, a certified woman-owned minority business, with a nomination
for the 2006 Frank G. Berlin, Sr. Minority Business of the Year Award. Eligibility
for nomination is based on the following qualifications: the
business must be a functioning business for at least three years,
must have a 51% or more ownership by a minority, be "for profit" and
locally owned and operated with no more than 50 employees.
Husband and wife team Pedro Perez and Roseanne Avella-Perez founded
Nuevo Advertising Group, a full-service Hispanic marketing, advertising,
public relations and translation agency, in 2004. Company president
Roseanne Avella-Perez spent over two years researching the region's
Hispanic market, and the group rapidly carved out a niche providing
marketing and advertising services to clients seeking to penetrate
this booming market. The pair is active both in and out of the office
as their professional affiliations include the Suncoast Advertising
Federation, the American Advertising Federation, the Gulf Coast Latin
Chamber of Commerce, the Sarasota County Economic Development Corporation
and the Tampa Bay Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, among others.
Vice President Pedro Perez says, "We celebrate diversity through
innovation and creativity. It's extremely gratifying to be recognized
for our efforts through this nomination. To us, it means the business
community at large is finally acknowledging and acting on the importance
of reaching the Hispanic market in their own language through focused,
concise marketing efforts."
The winner will be announced at the Annual Small Business Awards
Luncheon on Thursday, June 1, 2006.
