Sarasota, FL – April 28, 2010 – Ringling College of Art and Design began working with Nuevo Advertising Group in early 2009 to explore how to both broaden and deepen relationships with its many diverse current and potential audiences, while using the latest technological resources.

“Working with Nuevo, we have been able to set in place an E-communications strategy that saves money, expedites delivery of important messages, helps green the planet, and allows immediate response on the part of the recipient,” explained Christine Meeker Lange, Special Assistant to the President for Media and Community Relations.

“Ringling College has always believed strongly in supporting our alumni-owned businesses, and Pedro Perez and Roseanne Avella-Perez of Nuevo Advertising Group are but one example of the ways the college is collaborating with its young alumni business owners.”

Ringling College and Nuevo began by evaluating the use of a variety of electronic communications vehicles to target its many and growing audience segments. While the E-communication technology is hardly new, Nuevo has developed for Ringling College an E-communications system which allows separate segments of the College, e.g. career services, student life, admissions, to initiate a “mailing” and with minimal effort on their part and expert coordination from Nuevo, a well-targeted E-communication is delivered to the right target audience, with a fine-tuned message, call to action and trackable response mechanism.

While traditional direct mail yields about a one percent response rate, the College has regularly seen nearly a forty percent response to its various E-communications. As an example, the College’s Continuing Studies and Special Programs Office, which sends E-blast updates for their many offerings, experienced registrations that added 400 new students to their enrollment.

In collaboration with Ringling College’s Continuing Studies and Special Programs (CSSP), Nuevo Advertising advises and manages the CSSP E-marketing and Google AdWords campaigns customized for specific programs and audiences. Web traffic has increased dramatically, resulting in new participant enrollment in all programs. Delivered to target audiences, at weekly intervals, the E-marketing campaigns not only meet the market’s expectations, but also keep Ringling College fresh in the “mind’s eye” of target audiences at very low cost and with greatly reduced environmental impact. CSSP constituents, prospective students, and the community now receive design relevant digital communications regarding creative educational opportunities, and other College events. Through the marketing and technical savvy of Pedro Perez and Roseanne Avella-Perez of Nuevo Advertising, digital communications unite the diverse demography of CSSP constituents and reach out to new audiences with greater effectiveness.

“Nuevo viral marketing has enabled the Center for Career Services to effectively reach thousands of employers with minimal costs and offer companies to post jobs and internships directly to our web database.” Said A. Charles Kovacs, Director, Center for Career at Ringling College of Art and Design Services “Additionally, we can now easily identify new prospects through Nuevo’s tracking system and follow-up with active leads for on-campus recruiting. Finally, Nuevo’s staff is easy to work with, open to marketing suggestions, and they develop high quality graphics and emails that engage the viewer and invite a response. We look forward to working with Nuevo’s professional staff as we expand our outreach to critical constituencies for the Ringling College community”.

“Nuevo Advertising has provided us with a very important level of technological expertise that has helped to stream-line processes that used to be much more time and resource intensive.” said Tammy S. Walsh, ED. D., Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students at Ringling College of Art and Design. “It has brought great comfort to know that through utilizing Nuevo to provide important web-based and other communications, additional aspects of our Operation have been increasingly professionalized. It is wonderful to just let Pedro and his staff know what is needed, and then it is done. Their knowledge of the variety of electronic communications mechanisms is immense.”

Additional programs Nuevo has created for Ringling College include: Linking potential recruiters to Ringling students/graduates through its Office of Career Services; Soliciting entries of student work for internal departments; event, exhibition, and education invitations for the College Englewood Art Center and Longboat Key Center for the Arts; Event invitations to the public for its new Digital Filmmaking Studio Lab; Press releases to national media; National promotion for the Sarasota International Design Summit, including updates on speakers, agenda items and registrations, and much more.

“We are proud of the work we are doing for Ringling College, with their support we have been able to try many things and create real world success stories,” said Pedro Perez, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Our next challenge will be a new website for Ringling’s madeby gallery, an online survey system and incorporating mobile devices into our e-communication plan for Ringling.”
